Post 2025 Market Design Options – Consultation

Publication date

The Energy Security Board (ESB) released a shortlist of options for the redesign of the National Electricity Market (NEM)

The options addressed the influx of renewables, and retirement of coal generation in some jurisdictions, which are pushing the existing energy system to its technical limits.

This work is in response to a request from Energy Ministers in March 2019.

The ESB invited comments on this consultation paper by 9 June 2021. A detailed list of questions for consultation was included in the options paper.
