The Independent Review into the Future Security of the National Electricity Market recommended that the COAG Energy Council develop and maintain a Strategic Energy Plan for the National Electricity Market.

In 2016 the former COAG Energy Council agreed the National Collaborative Approach to Residential Building Ratings and Disclosure – Principles. Energy Ministers’ response to the review of the Integrated System Plan

On 1 March 2024, Energy Ministers considered a review undertaken by the System Planning Working Group of the National Energy Transformation Partnership into the Australian Energy Market Operator’s Integrated System Plan. Ministers have published a response to the review outlining an agreed set of actions that will enhance energy system planning.
