Out of the 9 units, 6 are proposed to be two storey structures, with a mezzanine bedroom. The 3 remaining units and communal lounge room are proposed to be single storey structures. The project is a class 3 building under the NCC, located at Roselands, inner western Sydney which falls in NCC Climate Zone 5.</p> <p>Team Catalyst show how the design of a boarding house in Sydney might change if the building had been designed to comply with the 2019 version of the energy efficiency provisions in Section J of Volume 1 of the National Construction Code, rather than the 2016 version. The case study focuses on the building fabric provisions. The case study was completed in early 2018 using an early draft version of Section J 2019 and does not fully reflect the final version published in February 2019.  </p> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-documents field--type-file field--label-above"> <div class="field__label">Documents</div> <div class='field__items'> <div class="field__item"> <span class="file file--mime-application-vnd-openxmlformats-officedocument-wordprocessingml-document file--x-office-document"> <a href="https://www.energy.gov.au/sites/default/files/roselands_boarding_house_upgrade.docx" type="application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.wordprocessingml.document; length=1717589" title="roselands_boarding_house_upgrade.docx">proposed building upgrades - Roselands Boarding House (DOCX 1.7MB)</a></span> </div> <div class="field__item"> <span class="file file--mime-application-pdf file--application-pdf"> <a href="https://www.energy.gov.au/sites/default/files/roselands_boarding_house_upgrade.pdf" type="application/pdf; length=1101051" title="roselands_boarding_house_upgrade.pdf">proposed building upgrades - Roselands Boarding House (PDF 1.1MB)</a></span> </div> </div> </div> Thu, 21 Mar 2019 05:02:47 +0000 peter.markmann 2993 at https://www.energy.gov.au Snowy 2.0 - Making power more affordable and reliable https://www.energy.gov.au/publications/snowy-20-making-power-more-affordable-and-reliable <span class="field field--name-title field--type-string field--label-hidden">Snowy 2.0 - Making power more affordable and reliable</span> <span class="field field--name-uid field--type-entity-reference field--label-hidden"><span lang="" about="/users/peterm" typeof="schema:Person" property="schema:name" datatype="">peter.markmann</span></span> <span class="field field--name-created field--type-created field--label-hidden">Fri, 2019-03-01 14:53</span> <div class="field field--name-field-publisher field--type-string field--label-inline"> <div class="field__label">Publisher</div> <div class="field__item">Department of the Environment and Energy</div> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-date field--type-datetime field--label-inline"> <div class="field__label">Date</div> <div class="field__item"><time datetime="2019-03-01T12:00:00Z" class="datetime">Fri, 2019-03-01 12:00</time> </div> </div> <div class="clearfix text-formatted field field--name-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field__item"><p>The Australian Government has approved Snowy 2.0 which will see the expansion of Australia’s iconic Snowy Mountains Hydroelectric Scheme.
