Buildings need glazing to provide visibility and natural light. At the same time, glazing provides a ready pathway for heat and cold to pass in and out of buildings – particularly when compared to walls, floors, or other building elements. This means that better glazing specifications can be an effective strategy to improve overall building energy performance.

This report identifies specifications, performance levels and prices for products typically used in new non-residential construction, giving a good snapshot of the industry as it operates, in line with the requirements of the 2019 National Construction Code.

The report also captures industry data and insights into glazing and construction practices and trends in non-residential glazing in Australia.
