Register your ERF project for the sixth auction


Corporations interested in participating in the sixth Emissions Reduction Fund (ERF) auction on 6–7 December 2017 need to submit a project application by midnight Wednesday 25 October 2017 (AEDT).

Through the Emissions Reduction Fund, the government will purchase lowest cost abatement (in the form of Australian carbon credit units) from a wide range of sources, providing an incentive to businesses, households and landowners to proactively reduce their emissions.

IEA report: Energy Efficiency 2017


‘Energy Efficiency 2017’ highlights the ongoing critical importance of energy efficiency to global economies, households and the environment. The report, released by the International Energy Agency (IEA) this week, finds that thanks to energy efficiency, global energy use was 12% lower in 2016. Global energy intensity – the energy used per unit of gross domestic product – fell by 1.8%. Improvements in 2016 continue the steady progress seen since the start of the decade.
