Sustainable Aviation Fuel Funding Initiative

The Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) has opened a $30 million funding initiative to reduce emissions in the aviation sector. Australia’s Bioenergy Roadmap identified aviation as a ‘hard-to-abate’ industry, where market opportunities could be unlocked from Australia’s bioenergy sector.

In November 2021, the Australian Government allocated $30 million of funding to ARENA in support of the development of an advanced biofuels sector.

The funding announcement details the process ARENA will use to fund projects under the Sustainable Aviation Fuel Funding Initiative. 

A public information session will be held on Monday 17 July at 12:00 noon AEST.
