The Victorian Government will contribute up to $10 million in grant funding over four years to develop and implement state wide demonstration projects, using microgrid models.
The initiative is a competitive grant program to support innovative, market driven commercial microgrid demonstration projects in Victoria, across various locations, building types, scales and business models to capture learnings for future applications.
The results will be lower costs to energy utilities and energy consumers, the creation of new products and services and jobs, more reliable power and reduced emissions to support our transition to a low carbon economy.
The first stage of the initiative is an expression of interest (EOI) to identify projects ready for implementation and which address challenges to the microgrid sector.
The expression of interest is now open with applications closing on 15 February 2018.
