The Australia-Japan High-Level Group on Energy and Minerals Consultations (HLG) is the principal forum for energy and energy resources cooperation between Japan and Australia.
The HLG consultations are held alternately in Japan and Australia and provide an opportunity for participants to obtain a better understanding of policy developments in our respective economies and explore opportunities for expanding trade and investment.
Topics generally discussed at the HLG are:
- energy and resources policy updates
- energy market reform
- renewable energy
- energy efficiency
- resources trade and outlook
The next Australia-Japan High Level Group meeting was held in Japan on 5–6 December 2017.
