The Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources is the lead Australian Government delegate for the Energy Efficiency Hub.
The Energy Efficiency Hub is a new platform for global collaboration on energy efficiency. The Energy Efficiency Hub seeks to:
- foster collaboration and synergies to enhance energy efficiency work globally and minimise unnecessary duplication of work to further the pursuit of energy efficiency solutions
- support co-ordination and the sharing of information, best practices and research between countries, international organisations and the private sector to promote cohesion of work across energy efficiency
- provide greater visibility and a stronger presence on the international stage for energy efficiency issues
- enhance collaborative activities with the International Energy Agency and cooperate with other relevant organisations
Australia is a founding member along with Argentina, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, European Commission, France, Germany, Japan, Korea, Luxembourg, Russia, Saudi Arabia, United Kingdom and United States. The Secretariat is hosted by the IEA (International Energy Agency).
