Consumer Data Right for Energy - NEL/NER amendments - Consultation
Publication date
Energy Senior Officials released a package of proposed regulatory amendments to implement the Consumer Data Right (CDR) for Energy, along with an Explanatory Note for Stakeholder Consultation.
The CDR for Energy will enable residential and business consumers to access their energy data and authorise accredited third parties to access this data on their behalf. This will help consumers get a better deal on a range of energy products and services.
The amendments included changes to the National Electricity (South Australia) Act 1996 and National Electricity Rules.
These draft amendments were prepared in response to a request from Energy Ministers (through the former COAG Energy Council) to Energy Senior Officials on 22 November 2019, to develop amendments that will facilitate the CDR for Energy.
This consultation closed on 14 October 2021.
